  • Nasri: Wenger going nowhere

Is MiSe Conor Mckeon. by Is MiSe Conor Mckeon.
    Written by Conor Mckeon

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri ,27, maintains there is "no question" of manager Arsene Wenger leaving his "project" at the Emirates Stadium anytime soon.

The future of the Gunners boss, contracted until 2011, has been called into question following comments made to a French television station that the prospect of linking up with Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez would be "interesting for any coach".

Despite all of the speculation, Nasri, the 21-year-old signed from Marseille last summer, is adamant Wenger is going nowhere.

"There is no question of him leaving," Nasri said in an interview with French website www.sport365.fr.

"I know that he still has a project for two years and he is counting on allowing Arsenal to rediscover its glorious past."

Nasri added: "I am lucky to be managed by someone who trusts me and everything is good with my team-mates, who are top players."

This topic includes: how arsenal can bounce back after the lose of chelsea and manchester united.

    how we inprove

how we didnt win the league

    will wenger spend?

    and samir nasri interview:

French international Samir Nasri belives that Arsenal can get back on track after a very disappointing game against manchester united,
at the start of the game the atmosphere was realy good even every one on bebo agrees with that.
but samir nasri said everyone was realy gutted in the dressing room and wenger told us that we could of won but we were very unlucky wehn gibbs slipped, and i belive that Gibbs didnt deserve that after having such a stunning game at old trafford in the first leg.
when the first goal went in every one just didnt know what to do and then soon after we were caught agin by then the game was decided.
man u nd barca will be a craking tie but it would of been just as hard if we were in the final against barca we play very similar football than barca and it would be very tiet but we have got to put the disappointing game behind us and bounce back against chelsea on sunday.
even know arsenal have go 4th place could they get 3rd place?
Nasri : well u never know because it is tiet enough but we will try to take advantage if chelsea did slip up but they didnt so it is better than getting 4th than 3rd cause we were close of comming 5th but we came back well on that and after man utd winning the league yesterday it means wenger is going to have to spen big to get even close to man utd who are europe chamions and chamions of the world but wenger said it is close than people say it is.
    * chasing third place in the League
    * being in better shape on Sunday
    * winning at Stamford Bridge

  • SdAMIR NASRI NEW THAT HE SGINS 4 ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB

Arsenal have completed the signing of Marseille's attacking midfielder Samir Nasri on a four-year-deal, the player has said.
Nasri, billed as a potential successor to Zinedine Zidane in France, has been negotiating with the Premier League side since the end of the season and now claims the deal has been finalised.
"We inform you that Samir won't be an Olympique de Marseille player next season and that he has signed a four-year contract with London club Arsenal," read a statement on his personal website.

Arsenal have yet to confirm the signature of the 20-year-old, who is expected to cost around £13m.

Manager Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of Nasri, who along with Lyon's Karim Benzema is seen as the future of French football.

Quick and skilful, Nasri would be an ideal replacement for Alexander Hleb, should the Belarusian midfielder chose to leave Arsenal this summer. And he fits Wenger's preferred approach of signing young players from smaller European clubs, rather than established stars.

Another such acquisition, Emmanuel Adebayor, has been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium, with AC Milan and Barcelona both expressing their interest in the Togo international. Barcelona are rumoured to have offered a transfer fee in excess of £20m, but Wenger appears keen to keep hold of the centre forward.

The Arsenal manager has also been linked with a move for Russia's playmaker Andrei Arshavin, although he faces competition from Chelsea and Spanish clubs for his signature.

  • Nasri 'agrees Arsenal contract'

Arsenal have won the race to sign France midfielder Samir Nasri from Marseille, BBC Sport understands.

The 20-year-old, who has been dubbed the new Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly agreed a four-year contract and will join after Euro 2008.

Nasri, who has made two appearances at this summer's European Championship, has spent the last four seasons with the French side.

He came to prominence in France's U-17 European Championship side in 2004.

The 20-year-old is believed to have a £13.5m buy-out clause in his contract.

Nasri joined Marseille as a nine-year-old and made his league debut during the 2004-2005 season.

Last season, Nasri, who can play on either wing, won the French first division's young player of the year crown and was voted Marseille's player of the year by fans.

This campaign he scored six goals in 30 games for the French outfit with the final strike in his tally coming in the 4-3 win over Strasbourg last weekend that helped secure Marseille's berth in next season's Champions League.

Nasri had appeared at various youth international levels for France before winning the first of seven senior caps in 2007, though he only came on as a substitute as Les Bleus exited Euro 2008.

The BBC's football correspondent Jonathan Legard said: "Arsene Wenger had hoped to complete the deal before Euro 2008 but now the official announcement will come after the tournament.

"He could be a replacement for Alexander Hleb whose future remains the subject of speculation."

  • 2008/2009 - Draft Barclays Premier League Fixtures

The draft fixture list for the 2008/09 Barclays Premier League season has been announced. Arsenal kick-off their campaign when West Brom visit Emirates Stadium on August 16. They follow that with a short trip to Fulham and a home game with Newcastle before the end of August.

The two games against Tottenham are later than last season. Unusually, the home game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28 while the trip to White Hart Lane takes place on February 7.

Turning to Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, Arsenal entertain Sir Alex Ferguson's side on November 8 and visit Old Trafford in the penultimate game of the season on May 16. Arsène Wenger's men go to Chelsea on November 29 with the reverse fixture also very late on May 9. Meanwhile, the home game with Liverpool is just before Christmas on December 20 and the Anfield fixture is scheduled for April 18, though that is FA Cup Semi-Final day.

That game is start of a tough looking run-in for Wenger's men. Assuming there are no changes, the final half-dozen games of the season will read like this: Liverpool (a), Middlesbrough (h), Portsmouth (a), Chelsea (h), Manchester United (a), and Stoke (h).

Please note that this is a draft fixture list and will be subject to change. We will carry further fixture updates when the first set of television dates are announced.
